George & Paul
Since a few months I'm animating again at Beast Animation. This time on George and Paul, a stop-motion series created by Ka-Ching Cartoons and produced by Pedri Animation.
It's about two little guys who are made entirely out of wooden blocks! Here's a teaser made at Pedri a couple of years ago:

Rintje's kitchen - prop/set design
I'd like to show some of the design I did for Rintje, the series we've been working on for over a year at Beast Animation.
These are sketches of the props and furniture in Rintje's kitchen. All designs were based on Sieb Posthuma's illustrations. Below every sheet you can see some pictures of the result!

Have you met Rintje?
Time for a long-delayed update on the main project I've been working on this year.
Since January I work at Beast Animation again, this time on a new stop motion TV-series called 'Rintje'. The series is based on the children's books of Sieb Posthuma, a Dutch writer, illustrator and scenographer, and tells the adventures of the puppy Rintje and his friends.
The coolest part on working on this project was that we got to built Rintje's world, designing and building all the miniature houses and furniture...

Mie in Annecy!
It's been way too long since my last post. Time to start blogging again! And what better way to start off, than with some very good news...
After being selected at Monstra Animation Film Festival in Lisbon a few months back, my graduation film 'Mie' also got selected for the student competition at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival! Hip hooray!

City girl
Since a few months, I entered an evening course of graphic design. Mainly out of interest, but also to improve my software skills. Already learned a lot!
This drawing was made as a Photoshop exercise. I tried to blend the girl into the picture as much as possible. Underneath you can see the different steps it took.
